This past weekend, I had the honor of speaking to the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.)—and it was a privilege more meaningful than I could have imagined.
Gathered in Buena Park, California, I stood before an inspiring group of young Americans and their dedicated mentors—individuals who are not only preserving our country’s history, but actively shaping its future. In particular, I want to recognize Reese Holmes, the National President of the C.A.R., whose project “Revolutionary Valor” is bringing renewed attention to one of the most overlooked heroes of the American Revolution—Dr. Joseph Warren.
Reese's vision to elevate Warren’s legacy through her platform is nothing short of extraordinary. In fact, I believe she is uniquely positioned to do what many of us—authors, historians, and educators—have yet to fully achieve: to make Dr. Joseph Warren a household name once again. Her project is not just a tribute to the past; it’s a much-needed act of healing for our nation today. This is the kind of “revolutionary valor” our country needs.
To everyone who made this event possible, thank you for welcoming me into your C.A.R. family. It was a joy to meet so many bright, dedicated young patriots and to witness firsthand the future of our country in such capable hands.
