Honored by the Utah DAR with the America 250! Commendation Medal

Writer: Jeffery J. McKennaJeffery J. McKenna

I was deeply honored to be recognized at the 125th Utah State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) State Conference, where I was presented with the NSDAR America 250! Commendation Medal and Certificate by Utah State DAR Regent Kathryn Asay and Utah State DAR America 250! Committee Co-Chair Valerie King.

This prestigious award, introduced by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in January 2022, recognizes individuals and groups who have gone above and beyond to honor the men and women who fought for American Independence—and to educate others about their service and sacrifice. I am truly humbled to be the very first recipient of this award from the Utah State Society DAR.

As someone passionate about preserving and sharing our nation’s history, this recognition means the world to me. I am grateful to the DAR for their continued efforts in keeping the stories of our patriots alive and for allowing me to play a small part in that mission. Thank you to Regent Kathryn Asay, Valerie King, and the entire Utah DAR for this incredible honor. It is an experience I will never forget! 🇺🇸
